Join us for a summer full of fun, friends and learning! Each week Thacher's Primary Summer Program focuses on a particular theme, with activities that encourage exploration and learning about culture and the natural world. Our beautiful campus consists of ample space for outdoor exploration, wading pools and sprinkler play.

TIMES AND RATES
Full-Day: 8:30 am - 3:00 pm $330/week
Half-Day: 8:30 am - 11:30 am $195/week
Before-Care: 7:30 am - 8:30 am $60/week
After-Care: 3:00 a.m. - 5:00 a.m. $120.00/week

POLICIES
Children must be currently enrolled at Thacher (as of fall 2010) or attending another Montessori School.

Children must be potty trained.

Thacher reserves the right to cancel programming if enrollment quota is not met.

SCHEDULE
Session 1: June 28-July 2
Space Discovery
Blast off for a week filled with adventure as we exlore the mystery of outer space. Activities include making paper mache planets, singing songs, play games and other related craft activities.

Session 2: July 5 - July 9
Mineral Mania
Explore our world through rocks, crystals and gems. Go on rock hunting excursions and learn to utilize a rock tumbler to polish your treasures. We will end the week hunting for, and breaking open, your very own geodes.

Session 3: July 12 - July 16
Under the Sea
Join in the fun this week when we dive deep into the ocean to explore life under the sea. Sharks, whales, fish and crustations are just some of the ocean's inhabitants you will be investigating.

Session 4: July 19 - July 23
Backyard Visitors
This week we will explore the animals that live in our very own back yards. Learn about these different creatures and their habitats as well as enjoy a nature excursion through the beautiful Wakefield Estate.

Session 5: July 26 - July 30
Around the World in Five Days
Get ready for an adventure as we journey around the world in five days. Focusing on geography with a multicultural and diversity emphasis, this week is sure to be a "trip"! Children will experience music, food, cultural and geography lessons that will invite them into our global community.

Session 6: August 2 - August 6
Dinosaurs and other Prehistoric Creatures
Join us this week to explore the land when dinosours, mammoths and saber-toothed tigers roamed the Earth. Learn about these giant creatures, create Tyrannosaurus Rex bones out of plaster and dig for fossils.

Session 7: August 9 - August 13
Ornithology
Become an amateur ornithologist this week as we explore the wonderful life of birds. Study and osberve these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat and create your very own bird house.

Session 8: August 16 - August 20
Bon Appetite
This week is a sure recipe for fun! Come mix up a batch of multicultural cooking experiences and learn about basic nutrition. We will explore cooking around the world and preparing and sampling snacks that will be sure to please the senses.

Session 9: August 23 - August 27
Welcome to Thacher
As the summer draws to a close, this week will be an introduction to the 2010-2011 school year. Your child will have an opportunity to explore the Montessori materials and familiarize him/herself with the classroom environment. For those children going to school for the first time, or returning to us after a long summer, this is a great opportunity to socialize with peers and become familiar with the school.
